During COP29 in Baku, Kamala Ashumova, director of Reliable Future Social Initiatives NGO under Azerbaijan Child Helpline, welcomed Florence C. Nkhuwa the director of the Zambia Child Helpline to a cultural evening, offering a warm introduction to Azerbaijani traditions and hospitality.

The gathering provided a platform for meaningful discussions on child protection issues and services in both countries. Ashumova shared Azerbaijan’s growing helpline initiatives focused on at-risk youth, while the Zambia team highlighted their use of mobile platforms to support children in remote areas and address climate change impacts on young people.

The evening fostered a rich cultural exchange, where both teams explored Azerbaijani and Zambian traditions and laid the groundwork for future collaborations. Ms. Ashumova invited the Zambia team to visit the Azerbaijan Child Helpline office to further their exchange of ideas and strategies.

In a gesture of goodwill, the director of the Zambia Child Helpline invited the Azerbaijan team to attend the upcoming Zambia International Child Helplines Conference. This exchange marked a step forward in global cooperation on child protection, emphasizing the value of international dialogue in promoting the rights and welfare of children worldwide.
